Chieti is situated in the Abruzzi region, in central Italy, and is a small town that traces its history back to the pre-roman era.

The town developed later during the Roman period under the name of Teate Marrucinorum, the ruins of which still remain today. Subsequently, Chieti was part of the duchy of Benevento in the 7th century, fell to the Normans in 1078, and later on became part of the Kingdom of Naples.

Today Chieti is a small town with a fine Romanesque cathedral (11th cent.) and a 14th century tower, whose life is livened up by the presence of the
“G. d’Annunzio” University.

Chieti is situated 15 km from Pescara, a more modern town on the Adriatic sea.

The Hotels listed in the Accommodation page are in downtown Pescara. They are very convenient because they are all nicely located close to the “Riviera” along the seaside.

The weather in April may be very nice and it may appealing for a stroll after dinner with the sound of the sea in the background.
